Sanford, ME (August 12, 2025) – The Boulos Company is pleased to announce The Center for Grieving Children has found a new home at 1209 Main Street, Suite C, in Sanford, Maine. The organization has been serving the community since 2011, and the move to this bright 1,550± SF office will help facilitate their continued growth.
The Sanford/Springvale community has long supported the Center’s mission to provide tangible services to grieving children and families. At this new location, they will offer free peer support, outreach, and education to children, teens, young adults, and their families as they navigate the grieving process. They will also host volunteer recruitment events, educational programming, and community gatherings. Demand for the Center’s services has increased significantly in recent years, prompting the need for this larger, more flexible space.
“Our age-based peer group model requires an array of rooms that’s atypical in many available spaces,” said Danielle Alexander, The Center’s Grief Services Coordinator for York County. “We need a large room for gatherings of 60–80 people, along with 7–8 smaller rooms for more intimate support groups. After touring nearly a dozen options, we were thrilled to find a space at 1209 Main Street that checked all our boxes.”
“When we opened the doors of our first Sanford location in 2011, we were able to reach kids and their adults with a location that was accessible for all of southern Maine,” said Gretchen Johnson, Executive Director of The Center. “Since then, we have welcomed participants and volunteers not only from York County, but also New Hampshire and Massachusetts. As we are serving more people than ever now, having this new space of our own is very exciting, as it will allow us to continue to grow, and to provide an inviting and welcoming space for the whole community.”
The Center welcomes the community’s support as it transitions into its new home. A wish list of needed items and opportunities for volunteering or donations can be found on their website, cgcmaine.org.
To complete this transaction, Samantha Marinko of The Boulos Company represented the tenant and Ann Lapierre of Town Square Realty Group represented the landlord, Merge Associates, Inc.
