Vermont Flannel Gets Cozy in Maine


The Vermont Flannel Company opened two Maine stores in 2023, represented by Greg Boulos and Samantha Marinko. Family-owned since 1991, the company currently operates six stores in its home state of Vermont. They had been planning their Maine expansion with just one store, but when the opportunity knocked, it turned into two.

Vermont Flannel’s first Maine store opened in Freeport in May. But just weeks later, when prime retail space at 432 Fore Street in Portland became available, the team agreed that it was too good to pass up. Greg and Sam were able to move quickly to be first to the table, and the lease was signed in July.

Vermont Flannel stores are inspired by the natural beauty of Vermont and their products are made in the USA from double-brushed, organic cotton. The brand resonates with Maine consumers who love to be cozy in winter, as well as Maine tourists in search of authentic New England products.

Botto’s Bakery Relocates to Meet Growing Demand


Botto’s Bakery, a family-owned business that has been operating for 70 years in Portland, Maine, had outgrown its location on Washington Avenue and had to turn down business during peak periods. To address this issue, the bakery decided to relocate to a larger facility in Westbrook, Maine.

The Boulos Company’s Craig Young facilitated the lease of the new location at 5 Karen Drive in Westbrook. The move will expand the bakery from 9,000 to 14,000 square feet and will be designed for ease and efficiency.
